The Inner Temple Drama Society

Kate - Publicity Officer

Hello I'm Kate, the Drama Society Publicity Officer and I have organised this website which we are very proud to say is a first for the society! I can only hope that you have signed up to the mailing list to get regular updates on the society and the progression of The Devil's Law Case.

Below are photos and small biogs of the members of this years society. However it must be said that the smooth running of the society would not happen without Master Pascoe and Eamonn in Education and Training Dept, of whom we are very grateful for their constant support and encouragement.

......................................................................................................................

Kate has always loved drama, from being Mrs Wobble (Jack’s Mum) in Jack and the Beanstalk aged 9, later branching into Musical Theatre as Tallulah in Bugsy Malone. Having read Law at University of Kent and taken a year out to travel, Kate is currently studying the BVC at BPP Holborn. Kate always tries to inject a little amateur dramatics into her advocacy classes, relishing the opportunity to play the role of ‘gruff’ criminals on the stand (much to her classmates despair!).

Thea - Co President

Thea

Thea caught the acting bug when she played an orphan in Oliver! aged 7. Since then, she has played a wide range of roles including Dorothy Cotton (Wizard of Oz), Peter Pan, an 80-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy! A Particularly fond memory is being congratulated profusely on her 'flawless English accent' after a performance at Duke Law School, North Carolina (and the look of deep disappointment on the audience-member's face when she discovered Thea was actually English). After taking a degree in law at Cambridge, and an LLM at Duke Law School, Thea is currently studying the BVC at BPP Holborn. As President of the society, Thea hopes to increase the society's profile in the Inn and to improve upon the success of last year's plays in 2008.

Vikki - Co President

Vikki studied Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Balliol College, Oxford and is currently a BVC student at ICSL. Her first experience of drama was appearing as a small boy whose only words were ‘yes sir’ in a production of Antigone. She has since appeared in a number of productions including Doctor Faustus, The Well of the Saints and The Importance of Being Earnest. Vikki is the director of The Devil’s Law Case and will also be playing the part of Winifred. This will be her second appearance for the Inner Temple Drama Society, having played Dorothy in the Christmas pantomime The Q.C. of Oz. She is happy to return to the world of gore and retractable daggers; it has been too long. Vikki is the Co President of the Drama Society.

NJ - Treasurer

nj

NJ studied Law at Southampton University where she was involved in the debating and mooting society. She joined the Drama Society as she thought it would be a great way to have fun and gain some acting experience as a newbie; after all barristers always need to act. NJ is currently studying the BVC at BPP Law School and is the Treasurer of the Drama Society.

Vicki - Secretary

Vicki

Vicki studied English Literature at the University of York, the GDL at York College of Law and is currently studying the BVC at London, Bloomsbury College of Law.
Vicki’s acting career began at age five when she “starred” as an orphan who stole a sausage in Oliver and following this hit she had a successful acting career as a child, including a one-show stint as “Mrs. Potts the Teapot” in Beauty and the Beast. Her childhood playing ragamuffins and kitchenware did not leave Vicki typecast. Her later roles varied from Titania to a French Maid, from Medea to an Elf. Her love of comic acting led Vicki to becoming a founder of the University of York Pantomime Society (PantSoc), an accolade to rival no other. Vicki is the Drama Society Secretary.
